About Nils
Nils Bognar
A lifelong swimmer with roots at every level of the sport: club, summer league, Masters and NCAA Division I at Georgia Tech. The thesis behind Lane One Aquatics came off the deck, not out of a spreadsheet.
Background & experience
Nils grew up in competitive swimming and never really left it. He swam for Georgia Tech, served as team captain, earned a BSBA in Finance there, and currently coaches a 120+ member adult swim team. Before Lane One Aquatics he started and grew an Atlanta sports lessons business to 350 families, which is where the operating side of this work came from: enrollment, staffing, billing, retention and pool time.
Family & values
One of five siblings in a family where swimming is a tradition, an older sister who swam at Illinois, a younger sister competing at Florida, and two younger brothers hopefully next in line. Strong roots in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, where the family raises a couple of goats. Now based in Austin, Texas.
